Today on March 26, 2019, representatives of DragonEx reported on their Telegram channel that their platform was attacked by hackers as a result of which both personal and client funds were lost.
They say that they managed to return some of the stolen coins. At the moment, they are working on returning the remaining amount. Representatives of the exchange notified the law enforcement authorities of the countries in which they operate (Estonia, Hong Kong, Thailand, etc.) about this crime. In other words, this hacking will be regarded as an international crime.
DragonEx developers figured out addresses of the wallets to which the attackers withdrew the stolen digital coins. After that, the hackers sent these assets to large cryptocurrency exchanges. DragonEx workers contacted representatives of these exchanges asking them to freeze these assets. It should be noted that Huobi and Gate.io had promptly fulfilled the request.
Currently, the work of the cryptocurrency platform is temporarily suspended. DragonEx promised to reveal all the details of this incident in a week. They also assured users that in any case, the exchange will take responsibility for all the losses.
