Der Gouverneur von New York spricht über einen Antrag in der IBM Blockchain zur Überprüfung der Impfung gegen COVID-19

Andrew Cuomo, the current governor of New York, spoke about the pilot COVID-19 project developed on the IBM blockchain.

The world is starting to recover from the coronavirus crisis and blockchain could play a key role in verifying the vaccination of people against COVID-19.

The statistics are not encouraging yet. Only a small proportion of the citizens of world powers have already been vaccinated as of early March. While Texas begins to optimistically remove masks from everyday life, the rest of the states are in no hurry with this, taking much more conscious measures to return to their usual pace of life.

The Governor of New York announced the start of testing Excelsior Pass - an application on the IBM blockchain. The main task of the program is to determine whether a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19 or not, as well as to find out about the results of the coronavirus test by transmitting confidential data for verification.

The app was already tested on February 27 at the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center and on March 2 at the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. But so far the results of the test "runs" have not been made public.

A person will be able to print out his “health passport”, or store it in a smartphone. Health check is performed by scanning a QR code. At the same time, blockchain plays a key role in ensuring the confidentiality of user data.

IBM specifically developed open architecture software so that other nations could use the technology if it was successfully deployed in the United States. The company hopes that in this way it will be able to provide a reliable and safe transition to a “post-pandemic reality”.

American pharmacists from Moderna recently announced plans to partner with IBM. They want to figure out how artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud and blockchain can help improve the management of COVID-19 vaccinations.
