Verge (XVG) Dead After 51% Attack
The Verge (XVG) project is attacked by intruders. During the hack, the attacker deleted all transactions in 200 days
On Twitter, analyst Antoine Le Calvez explained what changes the attackers have made to the blockchain. According to him, 560,000 blocks have been reorganised in the blockchain, up to July 2020.
The 51% attack on Verge cost the attacker $47. At the same time, he was able to access the blockchain and rewrote the data from the blocks, replacing them with empty ones.
What does this mean in practice? This is the largest hacking in the history of cryptocurrencies. Blockchain Verge, according to Le Calvez, is dead. The community, of course, can try to make an effort and restore the blocks manually. But it is very difficult to restart.
