$1 billion in cryptocurrency stolen in US in 15 months
According to the FTC, over the past 15 months, crypto users have reported losing $1 billion of digital assets in a scam.
Between January 2021 and March 2022, 46,000 people filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission about the theft of cryptocurrencies. The average loss was $2600. At the same time, BTC (70%), USDT (10%), ETH (9%) were stolen the most.
FTC representatives admitted that every year cryptocurrency is becoming more and more popular with scammers. Every $4 stolen in the US is linked to a cryptocurrency. Most often, the victims of fraud are people aged 29-40 years.
