The Former CEO of Facebook Disagrees with Warren Buffett’s Opinion about Bitcoin
According to the venture capitalist of the fintech sector and former CEO of Facebook Chamath Palihapitiya, Warren Buffett is mistaken about the world #1 cryptocurrency. He said this during an interview with CNBC.
"Not everybody is right all the time," told Palihapitiya CNBC's "Squawk Box."
We remind you that earlier Buffett criticized BTC, because, in his opinion, all digital currencies can not be an object of investment, since they are a speculative tool. As Palihapitiya has said during the interview that he is a "student" of Buffett. He also claims that he considers the currency as an alternative to gold.
"Something like bitcoin is really important," Palihapitiya said.
In addition, Chamath adds that he has a feeling of being between two "different universes," and he needs a passport to somehow interact "between the real world and the Bitcoin world." He says that Bitcoin holders, who became owners of the cryptocurrency in 2012, consider it a long-term hedge operation for the "traditional financial infrastructure".
