The First Hearing in the Case of Vinnik May Take Place in a French Hospital
The very next Tuesday, January 28, 2020, the French court for freedoms and imprisonment will hold a hearing to consider the conditions of imprisonment of Alexander Vinnik. Recall, this person is suspected of financial fraud for about 4 billion US dollars on the BTC-e crypto platform.
According to suspect’s lawyers, Timofey Musatov, they can keep Vinnik detained only in the case they have if specific charges. If the prosecution doesn’t find them, they should let him go by the law.
“Therefore, either he is charged or he must be released,” Musatov said.
Also, he said that due to Vinnik’s poor health, the hearing is likely to take place right in the hospital. Earlier we wrote that the Russian crypto fraud Vinnik went on a hunger strike, and just yesterday he was extradited to France.
