Exchanges OKEx, Poloniex and HitBTC Temporarily Suspended Work with ERC-20 Tokens
The withdrawal of ERC-20 digital funds and the acceptance of deposits have been suspended for a while in the cryptocurrency exchanges OKEx, Poloniex and HitBTC. The company OKЕx has left only a small comment on this situation: https://twitter.com/OKEx_/status/989038732392136709 https://twitter.com/Poloniex/status/989123551788785666 https://twitter.com/hitbtc/status/989121599877066753 The reason for this kind of decision for Poloniex and HitBTC is internal checks, which started after notification of companies about the susceptibility of their smart contracts to batchOverflow. Financial transactions with digital currencies ERC-20 will resume after the completion of the audit. The OKEx exchange has been recently attacked by hackers who transferred 8 Vigitillion dollars of BeautyChain tokens into their wallet. After the hacking, Peckshield experts made a public statement that OKEx is not the only exchange that was threatened. The BatchOverflow exchange was also vulnerable, resulting in more than ten users of ERC-20 smart contracts in the risk zone. We would like to remind you that some time ago the Dutch fiintech company VI Company discovered an error in the work of the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the US, Coinbase. The failure in the system allowed users to credit an unlimited amount of Ethereum cryptocurrency into their accounts, which could then be withdrawn from the account.
