China Banned Ethereum Blockchain Browser
A large Chinese firewall, which is actively used by the authorities to block all undesirable Internet resources, banned etherscan.io - one of the most popular statistics services on the Ethereum blockchain, became known recently.
According to some reports, the site stopped working on October 30, 2019. It was the first time that the Chinese authorities paid attention to the blockchain network browser.
"This is another instance of friction between the decentralized and immutable technology of blockchain and the tightly controlled, centralized government of China," CEO of blockchain investment firm Sino Global Capital Matthew Graham said.
He believes that the cryptocurrency community should be prepared for such actions by the current PRC authorities in relation to other digital coins. The matter is that China plans to create its own products based on blockchain technology, and they will simply block all others.
Note that such popular resources as Google, YouTube, Gmail, Facebook, Skype, etc have long been blocked in China, while the Chinese developers have released their own analogs, fully controlled by the authorities.
