Blockstream and Digital Garage Are Opening Up a Joint Venture in Japan
Japan has proved to be one of the most crypto-friendly markets in Asia and in the whole world. Thus, no wonder it attracts a lot of crypto enthusiasts that launch their projects and startups there.
As announced by the Canadian Bitcoin and blockchain company Blockstream, it is going to cooperate with the UK_based Digital Garage to work on a joint project in Japan. The new venture will also involve the help of the Japanese financial company Tokyo Tanshi.
The project is called CryptoGarage. It will be “dedicated to building Bitcoin and blockchain solutions for the Japanese institutional market.”
First announced last year, CryptoGarage has already released its first development - Settlenet. It is a platform, which claims to be fast and secure, running on the blockchain of Blockstream meant for crypto brokers and exchanges.
The project was approved by the Japanese regulator FSA and can now proceed with the new endeavour - launching the first Japanese stablecoin, which will be pegged to the Japanese yen.
