Bittrex Crypto Exchange Is Delisting Bitcoin Gold: What Are the Reasons?
Although the large Seattle-based cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex has recently introduced new trading pairs with cryptocurrencies like Zcash and Ripple, it is actually delisting coins as well. According to the resource TheNextWeb, Bittrex is going to remove trading pairs with Bitcoin Gold. The reason for such drastic measures was the reluctance of BTG representatives to compensate the funds stolen from Bittrex due to a hacker attack aimed at Bitcoin Gold hash powers. In May of this year, attackers managed to get hold of over half of Bitcoin Gold’s hashrate and then stole almost $20 million in this crypto from different exchanges, Bittrex as well. The exchange demanded from BTG team to replace assets taken from them. The BTG team stated that they were not “responsible for security policy within private entities like Bittrex”. https://twitter.com/bitcoingold/status/1036421314695843840 No doubt, Bittrex is not happy about such a decision. Thus, in 2 weeks or so, Bitcoin Gold will disappear from this exchange. Subscribe to The Coin Shark news in Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/coinshark/
