Kazakhstan raised $1.5 million from mining

The Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan on Tuesday released a report on the state of mining in the country for the first quarter of 2022. It says that revenues came from 12 regions of the country, and a total of $1.5 million in taxes were collected.

Funds were received less than predicted as mining companies were actively shut down across the country due to regulation and power supply restrictions.

Recall that in 2021, after the ban on mining in China, many enterprises moved farms to Kazakhstan. However, local power grids could not cope with the increased load, and massive power outages followed.

Therefore, at present, the country has lost its leading position to the United States, Russia and a number of other countries. Now the mining sector of Kazakhstan occupies 13.3% of the world market.
