Bitmain lowers the price of ASIC miners by 20%
One of the largest manufacturers of ASIC miners on the market, Bitmain, began to reduce the prices of its devices by up to 20% due to the fall in the rate of the main cryptocurrency in the market and the growing criticism of mining from the State Council of China.
In his Twitter account, journalist Colin Wu said that due to problems in the face of the Chinese authorities and the bear market, the manufacturer was forced to reduce the cost of miners, simultaneously refusing to refund prepayments to customers who placed orders for equipment in the last month.
Naturally, most buyers were not satisfied that the company suddenly decided to lower the cost. Therefore, they rightly put forward a demand for discounts, and some asked to completely return their prepayments in full. Bitmain, in turn, refused to return the funds, in return offering customers 4% per annum of the number of their prepayments.
Earlier, Wu said that Bitmain takes 20% prepayment on orders for 1,000 or more devices. Considering that the main hit Antminer S19Pro with a hash rate of 110 TH s costs buyers $10,230, they, to put it mildly, are unlikely to be happy with such a decision of the company.
