Coinbase's official answer

Crypto-platform experts recognized the problem on the official website of the exchange in the section for resolving technical failures. They said that the bug was caused by the increased delay during data transfer. They spent 54 minutes to solve the trouble in the equipment, which was fairly quick, still, in such moments every second counts. So users consider this behavior of the site unacceptable.

Similar precedents have already happened

Users of the crypto platform reproached Coinbase for the fact it was not the first time that it worked incorrectly during sudden movements in the market.

For example, in May of this year, when BTC fell sharply below $8,000 in a short period of time, Coinbase was also offline. A similar situation was in 2019 when bitcoin lost 15% of its value in 24 hours.
