The popular American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase launches a new service that will directly integrate cryptopayments directly using the button Coinbase Commerce.
The service resembles a similar tool in PayPal and in some other payment operators, reports Trustnodes.
Unlike other options provided by Coinbase and requiring an account on the exchange, serving a limited number of countries, customers only need to have cryptocurrency to pay for purchases using the new service.
As for now, there is no official information on the network about the service, and registration on the Coinbase Commerce website is not available, but on some sites a new button has already appeared. As well as with other payment methods, after selecting the product, you are directed to the payment page:
Having clicked on the payment with Coinbase Commerce option, you enter the window for choosing cryptocurrency:
There are 4 options: Ethereum, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin. The same cryptocurrency users can buy via the main Coinbase service.
Having chosen a cryptocurrency, you enter the payment page, which differs a little from usual payment interface of wallets.
Thus, BitPay may have a serious competitor. At present, BitPay serves about 100,000 merchants, and Coinbase – about 50,000. Popular payment service has recently integrated Bitcoin Cash, and the addition of other options is only being planned though, while Coinbase is ready to provide support for four cryptocurrencies.
