American manufacturer of electric vehicles, Tesla Inc has published a financial report for the first quarter of 2019. According to official data, car sales fell by 31% compared with the IV quarter of 2018. As they explain in the company, this was due to the difficulties encountered with the supply of the new “budget” sedan Model 3 to Europe and China. Here is Tesla’s report for the first quarter of 2019 in numbers:
- The total number of produced cars was 77,100 units (62,950 Model 3 and 14,150 Model S/X);
- Total cars were sold – 63,000 units (50,900 Model 3 and 12,000 Model S/X).
It should be noted that at the time of the report submission, 10,600 cars were in transit to their owners, so they will be counted in the second quarter of 2019. But despite the fallen figures, the company aims to realize 360-400 thousand cars this year.
According to representatives of Tesla, they faced with great difficulties connected with the supply of Model 3 to Europe and China. A huge number of specialists are working on solving this logistic problem, so in the near future supplies should be improved.
