Bitcoin Growth Triggers a False Increase in Tether's Capitalization of $500 Million
This week began with the most popular stablecoin Tether (USDT) unexpected increase in capitalization by half a billion dollars: from $4.14 billion to $4.65 billion. CoinMarketCap noticed this unusual activity. Initially, users thought that the company had an additional issue of coins, but this information was not confirmed. Other services, such as CoinGecko, did not show this rapid growth in Tether's capitalization. The fact is that just on January 6, CoinMarketCap specialists updated their algorithms, and the service has counted Tether tokens, which were released on the TRON blockchain. Experts connect the recent increase in Bitcoin rate with this event, most likely trading bots took this jump as a signal to buy BTC.
