A vulnerability has been detected in the source code of one of the most confidential cryptocurrencies – Monero (XMR). The weak point in the security system was found during the HackerOne vulnerability search competition.
Using a flaw in the source code, a potential attacker could withdraw more money in the XMR from the cryptocurrency exchange than had been deposited there. It is also noted that the vulnerability was extended to other crypto assets built on the Monero model. At the moment, the gap in the source code was closed by the Monero team.
We would like to remind you that Monero was hacked not so long ago, and a mining virus got hold of $26 thousand.
