A beta version with a dark interface mode on Instagram was released for Android smartphones.
The beta version of the Instagram application 18.104.22.168 allows turning the dark theme. In the new Android 10, it turns on automatically if the night mode is turned on in the smartphone settings. Older versions of Android need to be manually set to the dark interface in the application settings.
The entire interface of the social network is black in the dark mode. First of all, it helps to reduce the load on eyesight in the darkness, since the white screen “hits” the eyes at night. At the same time, a black background helps to save battery power on smartphones with OLED displays.
It is not yet known when a dark theme will appear for all Instagram users, and there is also no information about iOS support.
