Gucci acquires a plot in Sandbox
The Metaverse of the Sandbox game project will have a permanent home for Gucci. The luxury brand will create virtual clothing and accessories that can be worn in-game.
The message, published by the company's representatives, does not disclose the number of purchased plots. However, this is yet another proof of the commitment of real-world companies to the virtual Metaverses.
Gucci plans to release NFT merchandise including vintage handbags and other accessories, some of which can be seen on the Gucci Vault platform. According to Sandbox COO Sebastien Borje, the new generation of gamers are just as passionate about virtual fashion as they are about fashion looks in real life. Therefore, according to experts, having Gucci merchandise for them can offer a better gaming experience.
Note that Gucci is not the first time dealing with virtual goods. Previously, the brand created a play area in Roblox - Gucci Garden Experience.
You could walk in this garden, and in the Roblox store you could buy bags, wallets and other Gucci goods. Moreover, some of them, at first being sold literally for a penny, were subsequently resold for thousands of dollars, which is comparable to the cost of real Gucci bags.
For example, we are talking about the Queen Bee bag, the primary price for which was $5.5, and in the secondary market it reached $4115. Then settled on the average of $1578.
