Coinbase NFT platform launched

Announced in November, the non-fungible token trading platform was launched today by Coinbase.

So far, 3 million people on the waiting list have received access to it. Over the coming weeks, more users will gain access to the marketplace.

Anyone can trade on the platform by connecting any non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet. Including Coinbase Wallet. For a while, the company will not charge transaction fees.

According to a representative of the exchange, such large collections as 10,000 NFTs from the World of Women series or characters from the Azuki series are already available on the platform. It will also be possible to add any NFT based on the Ethereum blockchain. Support for other networks will be introduced later.

A distinctive feature of the Coinbase marketplace from OpenSea will be the presence of functions specific to social networks. Marketplace users will be able to develop their profiles, follow the profiles of other participants, comment, like posts. That is, the NFT platform will become more than just a token sale market.

In the near future, it is also planned to add the ability to buy NFTs with a credit card or crypto from an account on the Coinbase exchange, as well as to mint tokens.

Recall that Coinbase is not the first exchange to launch an NFT platform. Previously, marketplaces have already launched Binance, FTX and Okcoin.
