American actor paid 165 ETH to return NFT BAYC stolen from him in May

Seth Green, a popular Hollywood actor, bought back an NFT stolen from him a month earlier from the BAYC collection.

In May 2022, the actor became a victim of phishing, due to which he lost four NFTs. Among them was BAYC #8398. Since the actor had creative plans for him, he had to spend money to redeem a token with the image of a monkey.

True, the actor did not purchase it from a scammer, but from another collector with the nickname DarkWing84, who legally purchased it for 106.5 ETH. This is evidenced by a transaction on Etherscan.io.

Green found the new owner of the NFT and began threatening to sue him if he did not agree to return the subject matter. Later, the parties had a personal conversation, and DarkWing84 agreed to return the asset for a reward of 165 ETH.

Since OpenSea marked this NFT as associated with suspicious activity, the sale was carried out through another platform - NFT Trader. Recall that the tokens from this collection are in high demand and often become the target of scammers during phishing attacks. Be careful!
